Jobs and Employability Training for Teens

JETT Program

The Jobs and Employability Training for Teens (JETT) program is designed to prepare high-risk high school students for the workplace through soft skills development and paid, mentored internships with local business and government entities.

The program serves 15-20 students per school semester.  Students need to apply to the program and are required to sign (along with their parents/guardians) a formal agreement to meet program requirements.  Included in these requirements are school grades of “C” or above, no school discipline referrals, regular and punctual school attendance, and no involvement with law enforcement and the justice system.

Program activities outside of the paid internship take place at the Boys and Girls Clubs Jackson Teen Center during after school hours.
